Firefighters douse fire behind Dubai Autodrome
The fire broke out around 10:25am this morning.
Firefighters contained a major fire near Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai on Friday morning.
According to the Dubai Civil Defence, the fire erupted in two-storey caravans, building materials and offices at a construction site behind Dubai Autodrome.
Civil Defence received information about the fire at 10:25am and immediately dispatched fire fighters from three civil defence stations.
Firefighters managed to contain the fire by around 12:45pm, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring bulildings.
Several labour caravans and building materials were gutted in the fire. No injuries have been reported.
Earlier, local twitterati took to social media when the fire broke out, with one resident posting this photo of plumes of smoke rising in the distance.

@Khawaja_Jeee Saw fire trucks entering Jumeirah Golf Estates area from E311, looks like that area but not near the villas.

Several fire engines and water tanks were part of the dousing operation. The site will be handed over to forensic experts, after the cooling operation, to determine the cause of the blaze.
