All UAE federal government employees must return to their offices by July 5

All previous exemptions granted to employees in federal entities will be cancelled except for those with chronic diseases

All UAE federal government employees have been ordered to return to their offices starting July 5, the country’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced on Monday.

Federal ministries and agencies should continue to activate flexible working hours and divide employees into groups when attending and leaving to ensure that gatherings and mixing are reduced in order to achieve physical distancing, FAHR tweeted.

There will be certain exemptions provided to employees who have chronic diseases.

However, they will have to provide a detailed medical report approved by competent medical authorities, the tweet noted.

The latest directive says that all previous exemptions granted to employees in federal entities will be cancelled and employees would be required to resume working from the offices.

The previously granted exemptions now cancelled included those with a compromised immunity system, chronic diseases, disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and employees with children in Grade 9 or below.
