Arab men charged students up to AED1,000 for each exam
Abu Dhabi Police arrested two Arab men who leaked the answers of high school exams to students for a fee.
The Arab men used mobile phone technology to provide answers to the students, who were charged between AED500 and AED1,000 for each test.
Abu Dhabi Police’s Criminal Investigation and Investigation Directorate revealed the Arabs suspects initially worked with a tight circle in an effort to avoid detection by authorities, but the lure of lucrative returns saw the suspects grow their enterprise to a large number of students, which helped the police to arrest the two men.
Following the most recent school exams in the emirate, the Department of Electronic Crime Control in the Department of Investigation and Criminal Investigation were able to identify the two men involved in the scheme.
During interrogation, the defendants admitted to using social networking applications and passing the answers via mobile phones.
Abu Dhabi Police called on the education authorities to develop counter-measures to detect and respond to cases of electronic fraud, and to put in place strict measures to prevent phones from entering the classroom during examinations.
