Abu Dhabi non-oil foreign trade dips to $36.4bn
Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi says merchandise through ports falls 5.3% in first 10 months of 2017
The value of non-oil foreign trade through Abu Dhabi ports decreased by 5.3 percent to AED133.8 billion ($36.4 billion) during the first 10 months of 2017 from AED141.3 billion in the same period of 2016.
This was mainly a result of decreases of 22.8 percent in non-oil exports from AED24.3 billion to AED18.8 billion, re-exports by 7 percent, and imports by 0.6 percent compared with the same period of 2016, according to official figures released by the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi.
State news agency WAM reported that total trade decreased by 3 percent in October compared to the same month in 2016 due to decreases in re-exports by 23.8 percent, and imports by 7.8 percent, while the value of non-oil exports increased by 56.7 percent in the same period.
The statistics present the value of non-oil foreign trade, which entered or exited the territory of the emirate of Abu Dhabi through the ports of Abu Dhabi - comprising air, sea and road ports.
