11 injured in rush-hour accident on Dubai's Mohammad Bin Zayed Road
Four sustain serious injuries as accident causes long tailbacks on Abu Dhabi-bound lane
Dubai: Eleven people were injured in a traffic incident on Shaikh Mohammad bin Zayed Road near Global Village on Monday morning.
Four out of the 11 sustained serious injuries, said Lt Col Ahmad Burqibah, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department at Dubai Police.
Lt. Col Burquibah, who was at the scene, said: “The accident took place near Global Village, Abu Dhabi-bound lane. A small bus and a truck crashed into each other.”
The other six sustained moderate to minor injuries.
“The rescue team assisted the injured out of the bus, and ambulances attended to their injuries at the scene, after which they were transferred to Rashid hospital for treatment.”
Dubai Police had tweeted that the accident caused traffic congestion Mohammad Bin Zayed Road in Dubai.
Long tailbacks were reported on the Abu-Dhabi-bound lane, and Dubai police sent out a Tweet reporting the incident.
