The UAE is Austria's largest trading partner in the Gulf region
Austria has allocated €16.45 million for its participation in Dubai's upcoming Expo 2020, according to its federal minister for digital and economic affairs.
The country's participation in the six-month event is a great opportunity for Austrian companies to bring their products to millions visiting the exhibition, said minister Margarete Schramböck.
She revealed the signing of a cooperation agreement with the president of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Christoph Leitl, referring to the participation. It also supports an extensive programme that will aim to highlight Austria's diverse economy in a number of sectors such as science, art and culture.
Furthermore, Schramböck said Dubai's Expo 2020 will give Austria the opportunity to showcase its innovative and dynamic economy.
Leitl added that the participation will benefit existing economic relations between the two countries, especially given that the UAE is Austria's largest trading partner in the Gulf region.
Expo2020 is expected to attract over 25 million visitors to Dubai during its six-month duration.
