The line designed after traditional dress boasts crease-resistant and breathable fabric
Etihad Airways has collaborated with Emirati brand A Friend of Mine by Xpoze to launch an exclusive luxury loungewear line to be offered to the airline’s First Class guests, as well as those staying in The Residence on board the Airbus A380 fleet.
It is inspired by the simplicity and elegance of traditional Emirati dress, featuring earthy colours to ensure the pieces complement all skin tones and can easily be matched with other items for everyday wear.
Made of anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic Modal, the loungewear is free of unnecessary stitching and embellishments. It is also crease-resistant and breathable.
“The innovative and striking designs follow the same attention to detail and design principles held by Etihad,” said Linda Celestino, Etihad Airways Vice President Guest Experience and Delivery.
"The creations are high-quality, wearable on your flight for relaxing or sleeping, yet simple and stylish enough to be matched with other items of clothing for everyday wear.
“By doing so, we also present our guests with a long-lasting and valuable memento of their experience with us. This is something uniquely Etihad and reinforces our position as the airline of innovation and choice,” she said.
A Friend of Mine by Xpoze was founded by Rawdha Al Shaffar, Buthaina Al Marri and Fatma Al Muddhareb.
It won a competition by Etihad Airways last year to identify the best local talent to create the new designs.
The launch of the loungewear took place at The Louvre Abu Dhabi at a joint event with luxury online retailer Moda Operandi.
The ‘Night at the Museum’ was the first fashion event to take place at The Louvre Abu Dhabi. It was headed by Moda Operandi founder Lauren Santo Domingo and attended by global fashion names including models Halima Aden and Eric Rutherford.
