The new service will see Emirates fly an additional five times a week to Sao Paulo
Emirates has announced plans to launch a new, five times a week return flights between the Chilean capital of Santiago via the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo from July 5.
The new service will see Emirates fly an additional five times a week to Sao Paulo, bringing the total number of flights to the city to 12.
The additions will also allow customers in the two countries to fly between Santiago and Sao Paulo, with citizens of both countries needing only ID cards for the trip.
“The start of our operations to Chile underlines our commitment to South America with our fourth destination on the continent and another five flights to Sao Paulo,” Emirates President Sir Tim Clark said. “We are pleased to add a destination that has been in strong demand from our customers.”
The new flight, EK263, will leave Dubai on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturday and Sundays at 9:05am local time, arriving in Brazil at 5pm, departing again at 6:30pm and arriving in Santiago at 9:40 PM the same day.
The return flight, EK264, will depart Santiago on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays Saturday and Sundays at 1:10am local time, arriving in Sao Paulo at 5:55am. The flight bound for Dubai will depart at 7:45am and will arrive in Dubai at 5:15am the following day.
The new route will be operated with two-class configured Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, which offers 38 business class seats and 264 economy class seats.
Additionally, the flights will offer up to 14 tonnes of capacity for cargo, which Emirates says will help give Chile access to more global markets for its fish, seafood, cherries, flowers and other goods.
