World's youngest AI expert hails the UAE for tech priorities
Tanmay Pakshi applauds country for being first to appoint a Minister of Artificial Intelligence
Tanmay Pakshi, the world's youngest artificial intelligence (AI) expert, has said that the UAE is a unique international model addressing the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
He hailed the country's establishment of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and adoption of a national innovation strategy, which aims to create a knowledge-based economy and empower its youth.
In a statement to state news agency WAM, on the sidelines of his participation in the International Government Communication Forum in Sharjah, the 14-year old applauded the UAE for prioritising investment in its youth.
He also praised the UAE‘s AI strategy, which aims to improve government performance, accelerate its achievements, and create innovative working environments using the latest technologies and AI tools, WAM added.
In October, the UAE appointed Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama as the country’s first Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
Speaking about the appointment, he said: "I actually love it. Having a minister for AI proves that artificial intelligence affects every single detail in our lives on a daily basis. And actually yes it does.
"AI is an integral part of our life and over the coming five years, we will see tremendous growth. It’s quite important for the UAE and to every country in the world to be on the cutting edge and to make sure it remains updated on the latest technology and such a portfolio is the tool for that."
Pakshi highlighted the UAE’s desire to adopt AI technology in various work environments and invest in its potential, adding that that technology must be used to deliver data and information in a more effective way.
Pakshi is an international talent in technology and AI. Despite his age, he is a writer, lecturer, software developer, and a specialist in algorithms and cloud technology. He also developed many applications.
