The USA has withdrawn the ban on transportation of laptops by planes from Abu Dhabi
U.S. authorities have withdrawn the ban on the transportation of laptops onboard the planes arriving from the airport of the capital of the UAE of Abu Dhabi entered because of threat of terrorist attacks. Reports the The National edition about it.
Information on cancellation of the ban on the Twitter was confirmed by Embassy of the UAE in the USA. "The new security measures entered at the Abu Dhabi airport will allow passengers to carry by laptops and tablets in inside of the plane" — diplomats have declared.
The airport of the capital of the UAE became the first on which Washington has made the decision on cancellation of similar security measures. The head of the Emirates airline Etihad Airways Peter Baumgartner has noted that it "demonstrates reputation of Abu Dhabi that his airport is one of the safest".
He has explained that cancellation of the ban was promoted by creation at the airport of the special immigration center which carries out an inspection of the passengers who are taking off for the USA. According to The National, the ban on transportation of electronic devices imposed earlier in inside of the planes which are taking off from the UAE has led to reduction of a passenger traffic through the Abu Dhabi airport.
Part of passengers from Asia who made change in the UAE, began to fly through Europe to avoid registration of baggage. It has led to the fact that the Emirates airlines stated reduction of demand and have been forced to reduce number of the planes which are taking off for the USA. The decision to limit transportation of some electronic devices in insides of the planes going from the countries of the Middle East and Africa was accepted in March.
The threat of terrorist attacks with use of gadgets became the reason.
According to CNN, as a result of a number of special operations of the USA have obtained information that Al-Qaeda (banned the terrorist organization) develops bombs which can be built in accumulators of electronic devices. It would allow to bypass security systems at the airports. Later a similar ban concerning six countries was imposed also by Great Britain.
