Sharjah's Funoon District set to open by end-2018
Project will play host to more than 20 food trucks, kiosks, restaurants, and cafes
Dubai-based restaurant consultancy, Restaurant Secrets Inc (RSI), has announced that it is to launch Funoon District, a project that is under development in Sharjah.
An extension of the Al Majaz Amphitheatre development, Funoon District is being billed as an art, food, and entertainment hub that will play host to more than 20 food trucks, kiosks, restaurants, and cafés, with the focus on UAE brands, Construction Week Online reported on Thursday.
In a statement, RSI said that work is underway, with the project expected to be ready to open to the public in the last quarter of this year.
Ralph Homer, CEO of RSI, said: “Funoon District has been incubated to be a casual social space that brings together people of different interests, talents, and backgrounds, [including] musicians, foodies, families, and artists.
“One of the unique elements of this destination is that it is dedicated to support remarkable home-grown brands. Every retailer and food and beverage (F&B) provider at Funoon is a brand that has been proudly made in the UAE,” he added.
Al Majaz Amphitheatre is an initiative of Sharjah Government Media Bureau.
