Majority of UAE employees think their companies are innovative, poll shows
A poll conducted by YouGov shows that a majority of managers believe that innovation is only the responsibility of senior execs
A vast majority of UAE residents believe that the companies they work for are innovative, according to a new YouGov poll commissioned by Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA).
According to the study, 94 percent of people working in the UAE believe the country has become more innovative over the last five years, with a similar number of respondents saying that innovation in companies has helped them contribute to national competitiveness.
Additionally, almost three of every four managers and two-thirds of junior staff describe their companies as innovative, and 60 percent of managers said that innovation is solely the responsibility of senior executives.
The statistics also showed that only 10 percent of managers and 18 percent of junior staff believe that their companies are not interested in innovation, while nearly 20 percent said they think their companies lack the resources necessary to innovate.
“‘UAE Vision 2021’ calls for the creation of a knowledge-based, highly-productive and competitive economy, harnessing the full potential of our National human capital. We call on all UAE companies to unlock the innovation potential of all their employees,” said Abdulla Kalban, managing director and CEO of EGA.
“That way, millions of minds will drive the UAE’s global competitiveness and the creation of a knowledge-based economy.”
