Zengo’s vibrant décor offers a stylish yet relaxed setting, which takes inspiration from nature, fusing together traditional and contemporary tastes and offers you the perfect setting to savour the cuisine.
Decorated in deep rich natural textures and warm tones, the restaurant, lounge and terrace welcome you from the moment you enter. Upon entering a floating staircase awaits to take you up to the restaurant, lounge and terrace. You are welcomed to an open plan space and invited to explore the earthy yet luxurious interior, with dining enclaves around the venue, rich in natural textures and burnished tones - simple natural materials such as paper, wood and leathers can be found throughout. Here dining becomes a new experience; the freshest ingredients from across the world are prepared and combined to create a surprising and exciting culinary journey.
ALL YOU NEED IS ZENGO
Central to the Zengo's menu is the impressive selection of hot and cold appetizers, Sushi, Ceviche, Tempura, Dim Sum, Robatayaki and the Wok.
Live cooking counters create highlights throughout the venue including an impressive Ceviche and Sushi Counter – an imposing live cooking station serving ceviche, sushi, and sashimi served by an expert sushi master who impresses with his new and innovative flavour profiles and creations, including fresh maki rolls created with King Crab, Wasabi Mayo and Sriracha sauce. Originating from a centuries old country-style of cooking by northern Japanese fisherman, the Robata Grill’s live cooking station is another key highlight. The skilful Robata chef carefully selects and grills items over a white-hot charcoal especially imported from Japan, to create a stimulating culinary experience – sample grilled exquisite Tiger Prawns coated in Yuzu butter and Mozzarella cheese.
EAT, DRINK, ZENGO
The restaurant boasts three bar areas, each with its own theme. The centrally positioned 10-metre long curved lively Main Non-smoking Bar is a central focal point upon entering, with its wooden bar top and interesting wooden high chairs; and offers the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks, including the Sleeping Dragon and Kimono cocktails.
The Zengo beverage menu features innovative approaches to classic hand-muddled cocktails, each with its own distinctive and interesting presentation, as well as wines and Japanese sakes. The beverage menu also boasts a fine selection of high-class Chinese teas. if you are at the bar then you enjoy prime views of the bartender carving the ice-ball used in drinks, a skill that takes time and patience to master.
Onto The Smoking Bar and a more intimate bar setting awaits, with its striking sunken fireplace and the area offers the perfect place for post-dinner drinks, with signature Zengo beverages including the flavoursome Javanese mist and Japnese kiss.
Moving outside to the terrace area and the open plan space is filled with restaurant and lounge seating, offering views over the gardens and Arabian Gulf and is the perfect setting to enjoy the chilled beats of resident DJ. The Terrace Bar sets the theme, with a U-shaped bar including a unique flammable bar counter, which can be lit up to compliment the bartenders flaring with fire to create a real sense of theatre and atmosphere.
Those looking for light bites in the bar and lounge area are also catered for, with a menu including favourites such as the ever popular edamame beans and Tempura Prawns to name a few.
