HOW TO CHOOSE KITCHEN SINK

Before choosing a kitchen sink, it is necessary to decide on her form, material, the sizes, a location in kitchen, and also technical parameters: depth of a sink and bowl, diameter of a drain opening. And, of course, to think of how she will fit into design of kitchen.

Installation

Are divided by a method of installation of washing on cut-in, laid on and integrated.

For cut-in kitchen washing the hole in which it will be mounted shall be provided in a table-top. These are complicates a little mounting therefore kitchens are often delivered fully completed under the specific sizes of a product. But if washing is acquired separately, an opening should be made independently. Saving of the place, beautiful appearance of kitchen and the pipes hidden from a review will be result of such operation. But if there is a need to change the design of kitchen, a table-top with the hole cut in it won't be able to serve for installation of washing with other sizes any more.

Laid on kitchen sinks "are put on" kitchen cases or curbstones instead of a table-top. For this purpose the curbstone has to approach a product by the size. Advantages of laid on sinks are that it is easy to mount and dismantle them, and also to rearrange to other places. Besides the laid on sink is economical option, and pipes also disappear a curbstone.

The integrated sink — the most expensive design as represents a whole with a table-top and assumes exclusive design. Such sink can't be separated from a table-top and to rearrange to other place. Kitchens with the integrated sinks are made by the individual sizes and are established only by professionals.

Form

Kitchen sinks happen round, square, rectangular and of irregular shape.

The round sink looks beautifully, gracefully and originally and is a good design element, especially when it is established in the center of the room. However such sink will be suitable not for any kitchen. It is possible to establish a round sink (not to confuse to rectangular and angular sinks with round bowls) only in the cut-in way, and it can be done only in kitchen in which there is no need to save the place. Besides, the round sink is always less by the size, than rectangular even if its diameter coincides with the party of a kitchen table.

Square sinks are more functional and allow to use the place most rationally. They can be cut-in, laid on and integrated too.

Squared sinks are most widespread, convenient in use and can be usual and angular. The angular kitchen sink has one advantage before usual rectangular — she significantly saves space, allowing on both parties from herself to place other functional elements of kitchen.

Non-standard sinks are decoration of kitchen, the design decision. They aren't suitable for standard design decisions and are made to order. The non-standard sink can be any form and a configuration, including asymmetric and to combine smooth and rough lines.

Different types of sinks can be equipped with a wing or two where it is possible to put pure ware in order that from it water, or for a defrosting of products has flown down. Wings can be established at the left, on the right or on both sides.

Number of bowls

Depending on the number of bowls of a sink share on unary, double and with an additional bowl.

It is easy to imagine sink with one or two bowls. And here for what the additional bowl, and what advantages at such sink is necessary? The additional bowl represents deepening near the main bowl, the smaller size and having a drain opening. It is used generally for defrosting that products during thawing didn't take the place in the compartment intended for washing of ware, and thawed snow could go to the sewerage. Many hostesses use an additional bowl and for temporary storage of just washed up vegetables and fruit.

Materials

Sinks are made of a natural and artificial stone, metal, ceramics and plastic.

Kitchen sinks from a natural stone (marble, granite, basalt, onyx) well are in harmony with a table-top from a tree and other kitchen elements from natural materials, forming uniform style. Natural materials are durable, it is easy to look after them, on them there is no spot left, and they don't fade, however are sensitive to aggressive chemicals and abrasive materials. At installation it is necessary to remember that the stone sink very heavy and provides additional fastenings.

Sinks from an artificial stone (composite mix from a mineral filler and polymeric pitch) are much easier and cheaper made of natural materials. They successfully fit into any interior, thanks to a variety of forms. Unlike sinks from a natural stone have bigger durability and are steady against aggressive liquids. Sinks from an artificial stone demand regular leaving as on such material spots are well noticeable.

Ceramic sinks it is easier than products from a natural stone, but are more fragile and susceptible to difference of temperatures. Nevertheless, sinks from ceramics have won great popularity recently — generally because of a variety of color schemes and patterns. The ceramics has unique gloss, but that this gloss remained, the sink needs to be cleaned quite often special means.

Sinks from stainless steel have gained the greatest distribution. They easy and thin, but at the same time have sufficient durability. The cost of metal sinks is much lower ceramic, and also made of natural and artificial materials, and the choice of forms and design is very broad. Chrome is the only color scheme for products from stainless steel, fans of other flowers can get the painted metal sinks.

Sinks from brass and copper are used in rooms which style is issued semi-antique. They have the same advantages, as steel, but cost is much higher than them. It is necessary to spend also for plumbing fixtures and accessories (holders for soap, toothbrushes, etc.) which also have to correspond to design and to be made of copper or brass.

Additional equipment

Getting a kitchen sink, it is worth thinking also of the additional equipment for her: grinders of food waste, mixers, cranes for drinking water, siphons, the kolanderakh and lattices, filters of mechanical pollution, chopping boards and pallets. Grinders of food waste and filters significantly facilitate operation of a kitchen sink, prevent blockages in pipes and their damage. Siphons with the mechanism the valve automatic machine give the chance to close and open a drain opening by means of the special handle. Kolandera, the boards and pallets which are picked up for the sink size promote organized collecting water from the defrozen products.
