"Cape of a tent". On a legend, the leader of one of local tribes has once chosen the cape for the rate, having broken the tent there. According to the legend, in this place the queen Savskaya stopped for spending the night during travel to Solomon.The most northern of seven emirates of RAS AL KHAIMAH possesses plentiful greens and is the favourite vacation spot of residents of Dubai. The emirate of RAS AL KHAIMAH is located in the most remote part of the Arab world. Has the border with the Sultanate of Oman passing strictly across the ridge in the South and the northeast.Several important islands are part of the emirate, the most known of them Bigger Tunub and Smoller Tunub.The city of RAS AL KHAIMAH, the capital of the emirate, it is divided into two parts by the gulf called Hor of Races Al-Hayma. The western part is known as Old Al Haym's Races. There is a National Museum of RAS AL KHAIMAH and some public institutions whereas in east part known as Al Nakhil, the office of the Governor, public institutions and business concerns were located. These parts are connected by the big bridge built through Al Hor for streamlining of a transport stream between parts. Other area is called Al Hamranya where there is an international airport of RAS AL KHAIMAH, a tourist zone Haat in the southeast (well-known for mineral waters and visited by tourists for treatment), and the area Masafi known for natural drinking water.
